ImPACT Africa’s Learning Management System (LMS) is a dynamic and expansive resource for both physician and non-physician anesthesia training programs in low-resource settings.

ImPACT Africa’s novel Learning Management System is an online didactic curriculum leveraging the “flipped classroom” model of teaching, a model shown to improve learner acquisition and retention when compared to traditional classroom teaching. The LMS contains 180+ anesthesia and critical care lectures and is supplemented by 50+ case-based discussions, all designed with low-resource settings in mind.

The LMS was developed with a hardware platform that does not require internet connectivity and can deliver content over an expanded LAN wi-fi network, providing access to learners within 5 km of the server.

With content currently available in English and French, the LMS is being used by anesthesia educators and students across East Africa.
